Story Elements
Designer-5a,5b, and 5c
I designed this GoogleSlides presentation to supplement a unit on story elements. In kindergarten one of the biggest topics we teach is story elements. A challenge with teaching this is that most kindergarten students cannot read and rely entirely on visuals. The slideshow is full of visuals so that my students can easily grasp the concept. I provided images for vocabulary words as well as definitions of the different story elements. The slideshow was meant to be used throughout the unit. There are text references, videos, and pictures of books we have read in the past. My students were also give an opportunity to video one another on iPads to assess their knowledge of the story elements.
2nd grade geometry

This is a geometry unit I created when I was teaching 2nd grade. It is designed to supplement the current curriculum. It was created using GoogleSlides and is embedded with images, links, videos and a digital assessment. The unit is still used by the 2nd grade team.
AD ANALYSIS/CREATION

This is a combination of assignments. I created two ads in Photoshop CSE 666 promoting driving safety. I then used it to create and analyze a media message in Media Literacy CSE 612. It was an interesting experience to become a "creator" of media and experience the amount of information to consider when designing a meaningful piece of media. I was able to model and nurture creativity and creative expression to communicate ideas, knowledge and connections to my viewers.
Family of designs
This is a family of designs I made for CSE 615. The goal was to use elements of design such as proximity, alignment, repetition, contrast, color, style and text. I created a brochure, poster and letterhead that could be used by an elementary school to promote reading. I was very proud of the way it all turned out.
