COLLABORATOR

Educators dedicate time to collaborate with both colleagues and students to improve practice, discover and share resources and ideas, and solve problems. Educators:

4a

Dedicate planning time to collaborate with colleagues to create authentic learning experiences that leverage technology.

4b

Collaborate and co-learn with students to discover and use new digital resources and diagnose and troubleshoot technology issues.

4c

Use collaborative tools to expand students' authentic, real-world learning experiences by engaging virtually with experts, teams and students, locally and globally.

4d

Demonstrate cultural competency when communicating with students, parents and colleagues and interact with them as co-collaborators in student learning.

ARTIFACTS

SAMR MODEL TWINE

4A

The SAMR Twine link will take you to a Twine presentation that introduces, explores, and provides examples of how to take a lesson through the different steps of the SAMR model. This artifact is used during my grade level planning time. It is a resource for my team and I to reference when we are planning our units of study. We meet as a team at least once a week for an hour and use the SAMR model when necessary.

How to Use the Digital Geoboard Screencast

4b

I created this screencast as a way to teach my students how to use this new digital tool. The video only covers the basics. The students were able to watch this video from home as well as had access to the digital geoboard. I sent the video to the families that had provided me with their email address. They were encouraged to try some of the tools that were not discussed in the video. My students had plenty of time to explore the digital geoboard and quickly shared their opinions on why it was so much better than the physical geoboard (colored rubber bands, color filling option, no snapping rubber bands and easy clean-up).

Screencast-O-matic

4d

I created a screencast to guide my student's parents to our school website. We have very few parents that are involved with our school. Parents rarely enter our building, so a majority of the time they are unaware what is happening at school. Specifically, they often have a hard time communicating with teachers because they struggle finding ways to reach their child's teacher. The screencast helps the parents navigate the district website and get to our school website. From there they can find current events, information, and teacher contacts. I would give out the video as a link to parents with their welcome to school packet. My office has also borrowed the video as a resource for some parents.
